As part of the Federal Government's National Health Plan, Zedmed has been involved in the fast track program focused on the priority delivery of ePrescribing in order to equip medical practitioners as we collectively work through the containment of the Covid-19 outbreak.
The program has included a wide variety of participants, including practice management software vendors, prescription exchanges, dispensing software providers, government departments and multiple peak bodies.
All have worked together on this complex task in a truly positive manner with the objective of making a material contribution to the management of Covid-19.
We are pleased to announce that we will shortly be releasing Zedmed Version 32, which will enable ePrescribing for our users.
Watch the video below to learn more about the rollout of ePrescribing, practice readiness and how the industry is conducting this rollout.
Zedmed V32 Release Notes
Important note - The Fast-Track program, Industry Readiness & Legislation
Zedmed is pleased to be one of the software providers to be able to provide ePrescribing to you, and our intention in doing this is to ensure you can get your practice ready and equipped to prescribe as soon as possible.
However, it is important to note that ePrescribing is an industry-wide change and Zedmed V32 users should be aware of the level of readiness of the other critical participants in the prescribing chain, particularly at the dispensing end.
These participants are working hard to get pharmacies and pharmacists up to speed, however at the time of release of Version 32 we will not have access to a definitive list of dispensers who are ePrescribing ready, and we would recommend users take steps themselves to get an understanding of who can provide this service.
ePrescribing practitioners also need to ensure they are aware of their applicable state legislation. The Federal Government enabled ePrescribing through legislation in 2019 and while some states have followed that lead, some are yet to bring in this legislation.
Please note that Zedmed can't provide legal advice in this area and encourage users to ensure they are compliant before using ePrescribing.
